I felt I had to reblog this from PMP’s blog. A wonderful wee vignette that encapsulates the atmosphere of the 1970s railway away from the big cities.

If I’m honest I’m yet to build a layout due to a planned relocation and all that involves.
As soon as I’ve dropped anchor in a new spot though, I’ll be getting started with something small and your ‘shelfies’ are probably the most inspiring influences in my current line of though, both in styles and eras.
